## Prerequisites - Netsense 

The following have to be kept ready for use before you begin the installation steps.

- A machine in the network (private or public cloud or data center) – this could be a physical machine, or a VM with space for accommodating the software.
- The right version of operating environment, for example: Ubuntu 20.04.
- The matching software installer package. For example:
- ‎td-pkt-sensor_1.0-2_20.04.amd64.deb where

- 1.0-2 is the version of the software,
- 20.04 is the version of the Ubuntu operating system, and
- .deb indicates that the package is meant for the Ubuntu OS.

- The install script. For example:  

        install.sh

**Note**:  Resources depend on the volume of traffic being monitored by your Netsense sensor in your enterprise IT network and the packet recording data retention that your enterprise requires.  

      ‎Refer to [Deployment Options ](#) for related details. Your IT team can download or copy the installer package as per their convenience when it is made available.

**Important**: Enterprise360 has to be installed prior to installing and configuring Netsense (packet sensor).
