## Registering Netsense as a service

**Important**: By default Netsense packet sensor does not register as a service in your Linux OS and if you restart your Linux OS. Netsense process will not start automatically and you will required to start it manually. If you wish to setup Netsense process as a service to start every time you restart your Netsense sensor follow the below steps to register Netsense as a service.

Go to **"cd /usr/local/thoughtdata/netsense/bin"** directory and run the script **"./register_service.sh netsense"** .

This completes the step to register Netsense as a service. Next time when you restart your Netsense machine the Netsense process auto starts as a process. You can check status of Netsense process by running **"service tdnetsense status"** to check if it is up and running
