## Enabling and configuring SNMP on windows system

If you choose to monitor your windows systems and servers using SNMP method, it is required to enable SNMP on target Windows machine. The below illustration uses an sample example for a Windows10 64 bit professional machine.

**Note:** The steps can vary from one Windows OS version to another. please refer to Microsoft documentation to understand how to enable SNMP on your windows machine. **You need to be logged in as an administrator on the Windows system to perform this configuration**

Click windows icon on bottom left and click settings

 Launch settings

Navigate to Apps & Features and click optional features

 Launch optional features

In the installed features type snmp and check if your system already has SNMP installed, if its already installed skip and proceed to step 7. If not click Add a feature and type SNMP and install the feature.

Type services in windows search and launch services

Launch services

Check if SNMP service is enabled and running

Doubleclick on SNMP service and navigate to security tab

 Configure SNMP agent

In the community configuration set the appropriate string. Record this information and you would need this information during provisioning this windows system for monitoring in Enterprise360
